While I would have preferred the Flak Jacket for style and light-weight, they just didn't fit my face as nicely and the Half-Jacket XLJ, and the XLJ-sized lens gives that extra eye extension that has a cool look and just fits my coverage better. My old oakleys are 7 years old, and needed replacing. Additionally, my lenses were prescription (oakley prescription), and I recently had lasik.
I bought separately from Oakley, my favorite lens - "VR28 Polarized. I tried 30 different lenses from Maui Jim, Oakley (tried 15 different ones just with oakley), bolle, etc., and the "VR28 Polarized" were just incredible, at least for my eyes. There are lots of different types of VR28 (e.g. iridium and others), but the "VR28 Polarized" are my "forever go-to lens". I've actually owned this style lens for the last 6 years and will never go back.
I've never found big discounts on oakley shades as they control their channel model and "direct buy" model very well. The "made in USA" inscribed on them also makes me feel better, that I don't have toxic materials to worry about (e.g. the made in China issues that always seem to pop up)... Thus, this amazon deal was best I've seen.

I love the versatility of the glasses. I initially bought the black frames with iridium polarized lenses, which I loved wearing. They were great for work on the water (skiing, fishing, generalized relaxation), driving, and professionally (US Military). After 18 months of abuse (I had stepped on them multiple times, dropped, scraped, thrown into backpacks) the frames held up wonderfully but I had scratched up the lenses enough that I had to buy replacement lenses. After purchasing a new set of polarized lenses for daily wear, I also purchased a set of clear lenses and persimmon tinted lenses. I wear the clear lenses when I have need of a light duty safety lens, anytime it's dark and I'm going through brush and dont want to poke out my eyes; I wear the persimmon lenses when in a transitional environment such as a forest on a sunny day, or if I need the high contrast for something else (shooting, for example). They're super light weight, don't squeeze my head, provide unparalleled clarity, and are easy to maintain. I held back the 5th star for cosmetic reasons, the black on black didn't look as "cool" as I had hoped. Never the less, I can fully recommend the product.

Versatile. Great for driving, hiking, cycling, running, or just casual use. I wasn't sure if I'd like the iridium lenses (as opposed to polarized) but I think they're great. The best part: you can switch out the lenses, and customize them based on the activity you want to do. I haven't had the need to buy a secondary pair of lenses, but it's a great option to have - especially if you're buying the product online.
Overall, great sunglasses. Well-worth the price.
